Hologram of Baal is a CD that reveals it's qualities over MANY listens. When I first put it on,I was severly disappointed in the fuzzy low-budget production that buries some of the music. Now I realize that sound gives it an atmosphere all it's own. No Certainty Attatched is the only song that stood out on first listening, but now I rate it mid pack. Ricochet,Lousiana,Buffalo and Glow Worm are slow growers. Anastesia is one of my favorite Church songs ever. The Great Machine is scary,Tranquility makes me feel warm and fuzzy and my personal fav..Another Earth is a beautiful pop song. This Is It is the only song that doesn't really move me on HOB. There's my track-by-track crap analysis.

PS- Last April I went through a tough time with my exgf (she disappeared for god know why) and I got so upset I couldn't breathe very well for a week...HOB helped my breathe,so it was the only CD I played for a solid week...there's something in the sound...constantly busy and consistent in tone. I can't say anything similar for any other CD I've listened to.
