I for one absolutely love "Louisiana".

Yes, this may be described as typical Church material.

As mentioned before by others, the opening "Anaesthesia" may seem low in energy. But I prefer to think of it as subtle. As with a lot of Church material, I tend to find a lot of "hummable" bits and pieces that are really buried in the songs. Either they are mixed very low but still descernable or else I just hear things that aren't there. I'm not sure which is a better. Listening more intently or else getting something above and beyond the original intent. Kind of like the "whole is greater than the sum of the parts" idea.

Regardless, I still can hear great little melodies that are somewhere in the mix and stay with me after the CD is put away.

Or else I'm just nuts.

As for "Louisiana", check out Peter's interview. He mentions that this is the strongest track on HOB. I'm in complete agreement.
