My approach to this album was a little odd. In building my catalog, it was the very last one I got (even after AENT). It's a huge shift to move from the last few back to the first.
I find it interesting to begin to see where they came from. I like the album in a guarded sort of way. It's very different from the albums that made me fall in love with the band (Heyday, P=A, and GAF (yes, really)), but it still has some of the same genius. I agree that Bel-Air is a fabulous song. I also like She Never Said, mostly for the rocking bass line. I wish I could play the bass.
I guess in the end, this album doesn't do much for me on its own, but as a part of the history of a long-lived band, it's important. Glad I finally got it (really cheap from www.whammo.com.au)!
