Keep in mind the people who DIDN'T become instantly awed
by GAF (this also applies to any other album), and who
quite possibly thought the whole thing stunk and as a
consequence gave up on the Church and never bought
anything else by them again, are probably NOT reading
and responding to this board. Plus it takes great courage
by those who ARE reading the board to express a contrary
opinion to the growing (but likely illusionary) consensus in
this particular topic...

...I was instantly bored out of my mind by GAF and sold it
back immediately to the used CD shop after just one listen.
It did not in any way shape or form seem to me to be a
'true' Church album, and I wasn't about to torture myself
over repeated listenings to force myself to like it (or even
tolerate it). Instead I went back to their earlier albums
and continued to enjoy them, and kept tabs on future
releases (as spotty as they seemed to me to be). So there. :-)
