GOLD AFTERNOON FIX:
When I first bought the record I loved it - except for a few songs, I thought it was close enough to Starfish in quality that I couldn't decide which was my favorite. But over time, I lost interest in most of the songs because they tracked the Starfish formula of songwriting without the spirit of the original. It's as if they were forced into producing a Starfish By Numbers by Arista and Mr. Lembo, or by themselves. Also, once P=A was released, I realized what the band REALLY wanted to do, and this made GAF seem very timid by comparison. Still, a few of the songs are good enough and deep enough to bring back memories of my first few years with the album, when all was well in GAF-land.
