This is Starfish's evil twin... separated at birth, starved of love and affection. No, but it is the black to Starfish's white. There are remnants of Heyday and Starfish... the past and the present. Some songs expand on the storytelling as found in Hotel Womb. Metropolis features a guitar riff to rival Almost With You... Grind is superb. Russian Autumn Heart is Marty at his best. Transient is Peter at his best. Essence is sublime, those lyrics are my current favourites... "The universe is female, eluding the science of man..."

I have to skip You're Still Beautiful, as the stinging lyrics are too strong for me... Monday Morning and Laughing are less than perfect, but I am suprised at how well this album holds up now... at the time it may have been disappointing and felt quite without emotion, but now I see it's maturity and find myself under it's spell...
