IT's hard for me to see how any Church fan could disagree, but I know the disagreement is there. I also wonder how many people put it down just because they know Peter isn't on it?

Really though, if you let go of the past and expectations based on previous Church albums you can really get into and enjoy this album - it is great and probably one of the most artistic things the band has ever done. To me this is the most the Church have ever thrown caution to the wind and made an album for the music, not the industry's expectations. Business Woman and Authority excepted...

I think the whole album including the bonus disc is very cohesive and that much consideration was given to arranging the tracklisting. Highlights to me are Day Of the Dead, Loveblind, Business Woman, Authority, Dead Man's Dream (amazing!!!) and others as well that I am leaving out.

As much as I am a fan of Peter's work, his departure from the band at this time did not stop me from enjoying the album, and 7 years later it still stands up as an example of great writing and sonic exploration. I do agree with the comments that this is more of a melding of solo SK and MWP albums than a traditional Church album, and that Refo: has more of the typical Church sound. But my tastes have room for both to be favorites.
