ok, so get this. i ordered both "numbers" and P/RL/Sing off of my cell phone (a first) over three weeks ago with the notification "can be delivered in 10 days" .... and i am still waiting for it. after a call to HMV (don't complain steve, thats what you get, i know...), they said its possible only if they have the discs, which of course they didnt so they had to order it -- now they are saying wait for another 2 weeks. someday i will read that numbers thread, not yet, though.

on to Remote Luxury. I really like this album, and it was going back in time for me to get it because my second church life which carried me into fan territory started at heyday. I found this album at Meijer Thrifty Acres, a midwestern michigan flavored walgreens, and still don't know why it was ever there.

To strike a chord with all of you, i actually don't mind "maybe these boys", in fact i rather enjoy it. it is really cheesy music, completely stuck in the '80s no question, but SK's voice helps separate it a little bit, i think. so does anyone want to explain what's going on in the song? seems that someone somewhere (in summertime?) once mentioned it being about sexual abuse or something along those lines.

I really like Marty's songs on this album as well. I have a vivid picture of myself DANCING in our front living room, singing "volumes" to the front window, my audience. that was a great room with a decent stereo, a good time in my life, 15-16 years old.

Shadow Cabinet is my favorite song on this album, though, and it was great trying to figure out lyrics. absolutely still love this song... ceremony and mud, that is a name for an album somewhere.

I cannot wait for the P/RL/SS album -- if i am allowed to include sing songs here, after i picked it up in '89 at a record convention, i played it once or twice, recorded onto tape, and then listened to it on tape. "The night is very soft" is a great song as is "A different man." I enjoyed "I am a rock" for a few listens, but i wouldn't put it on very often anymore. I am glad it was put down on acetate.

good album Remote Luxury, but a great setup for heyday.
