This album is somewhat far down on the list for me. I still
occasionally play it, and frankly a number of the songs are
winners individually (CiO, No Explanation, Into My Hands,
AMoS, Shadow Cabinet, and I also like Violet Town and
the instrumental). It lacks however the cohesive force
and thematic complexity of their best albums, which isn't
a shock considering the two EPs that the album was
originally). I think Steve's comments on the album are
spot-on (it doesn't surprise me to hear that "MTB" was
intended as a satirical send-off of the MTV Generation...).
4.2 stars for the songs individually, 3.2 as an album.
