...From weirdness to drugs...

The guy who got me into the Church warned me, this was his least favourite ("didnt know what they wanted to tell me...")
Immediately loved it. Very diverse. Keyboards might sound like 1984, but at least they sound like keyboards, not trying to imitate something real.

1. Constant In Opal (3:29)

There's not much going on in the drum department, is it? :lol Great layering of counterpointing melodies...and how the synths mimick the voice.

2. Violet Town (3:28)

Extremely acerbic cool song I can't stop playing. Brilliant! Note the contrast between the nice verse and the dangerously jangling chorus.... fantastic song.

3. No Explanation (4:28)

Another great, easy, slightly sad pop song. Can't recall who else writes this brand of hummable, catchy melodies...

4. 10,000 Miles (4:13)

Brilliant Marty song, absolutely exciting in my ears.

5. Maybe These Boys (5:47)

I'm with Altres on this one. :lol

6. Into My Hands (3:46)

The most simple Church tune ever. I always took it as a christmas carol.

7. A Month of Sundays (4:20)

Another translucent masterpiece.

8. Volumes (4:04) (sung by Marty Willson-Piper)

Hm... prefer the solo version

9. Shadow Cabinet (4:16)

"Everything that was good about us in 1984", SK
("...except for what you find in "Month Of Sundays", SH)

10. Remote Luxury (3:14) (instrumental)

Universal "Grandiose" bashing on HW, well, I love it but dont care for "RL".
...because strange is what we need
