Mario and Brian:
Youre both right. Those are some of the best early Echo songs indeed. The quintessential. The early stuff continue to be my favorite, with Killing Moon and The Game on the top.
Just a few to considerate. Ive been seeing/reading a lot of bad reviews about the most recent Echo albums here in Brazil. But, to me, the new releases are almost as good as the old ones. Ians voice remains specially great, as always was (maybe even those dark glasses could be the same too).
Some would say that this is not good, that the band has to pursuit something different Well, this is a valid point of view (I cannot deny, see The Church for instance), but I like it anyway, as much as I did in the past.
And lets not start the old X new battle again.
Said that, since your friend already has What are you going to do with your life, I guess she would like to hear some songs from Evergreen and Flowers Mario.
From Evergreen I like Dont let it get you down, I want to be there (when you come) and Nothing last forever the most, although I think the whole album is great.
And from Flowers Id choose Make me Shine, the title track Flowers and, finally, Everybody knows (probably the best of them all).
Cheers.
