I heard some of Jeff Tweedy's soundtrack for the current Ethan Hawke film (can't recall the title)...I thought it was a more interesting listen than YHF.

I agree that YHF has sort of become the "latch-on" critical fave album this year...a lot of critics don't want to appear out-of-step by suggesting that it might not quite be the Sgt. Darkside of the Joshua Tree of the year, for all of its virtues.

What's wrong with just considering YHF simply a "damn good album"? I'm annoyed by some of the hyperbole in the reviews. I like YHF, but I don't see it as "definitive" of any genre or generation, or THE 'album of the year', just a fine piece of work among several other excellent albums of late. Then again, maybe its just that I'm too smitten with the new Flaming Lips :)
