When Guy and I (and another mate) saw Piano Magic we left the gig totally mesmerised. Guy went to the bar for a bar whilst Joel and I stared at each other for a few seconds waiting for each other to say it..............'wasn't that the best fuckin gig ever.'
It was till today Piano Magic at the Botanique was the best gig I've ever had the pleasure.........etc

I remember that the three of us were quite confused that we hardly knew any of the songs they played. 'B-sides' we kept saying ! We remembered some lyrics and searched the songs to no avail.

Well the good news is Guy , Joel (ok I told him already) anyone thats taken an interest to this band........those songs are on the new album.........the troubled sleep of piano magic.

Weird really that they had based their set on their up-coming album rather than the one they were promoting ! No wonder they didn't last long with 4AD ! Although obviously I don't know he reasons why they quit the label after just one album.

Its their most coherent album , sounds like a band - and is a band rather than Glen Johnson and some guest musicians. He sings on most of the songs except for 2 female vocals numbers.
Its such a brilliant album , based on songs this time around , to magnificent beautiful haunting effect.

Honestly this is one album Church fans should love.
