The manufacturer's instructions for my new stereo unit (the first of a new Panasonic line that started coming out in April) says not to use any cdrs with ANY label or ANY writing of ANY kind on it. All I know is the warranty says that if any labels or writing is done on the cdrs and paper or ink is found inside the unit when it is brought for maintanance - then ANY warranty is completely void. As I paid an extra 25% for a three year performance based warranty, I have no intentions of violating its terms (though this additional one doesn't mention anything about the cdrs). (A performance based one is where the unit gets replaced or you get full 100% credit for the unit if it fails to function good as new, not just if a part totally breaks. I got mine at Circuit City and am generally satisfied. Plus I knew and wanted to help out the clerk who gets the commission on it. So...)

Any cdrs I have already received I will simply have to give to my brother-in-law...who shall give it to his brother who is actually the closest person I know of in my circle with a cdr burner and have a copy made without the label. (It's just that all this is obviously not a priority project with them and will take a while).
