Here's a few thoughts I have on the songs...not ranking them or whatever! Just off the top of my head...

---------------------------------

D -->>D isc One
D -->>D aniel Watkins - Tristesse[/i[
I knew from the minute I heard this song that I had the lead-off song for the entire HERESY set. I think Daniel has the best singing voice of any of the musicians I've heard via the womb and seance. He always adds very nice guitar textures to his songs, even an acoustic-driven song like this version of "tristesse".

Alt:res - Into My H
What can I say? I love Brian, and from the first time I heard this song, I knew he was a very talented guy! He's truly the "artist" amongst the musicians. I have a great amount of respect for him. A lush and peaceful arrangement of this song.

Cosmetic Attitude - Constant in Opal
I really love Matt's sound. He does not disappoint with this song. I think it is a perfect fit for his style. I was suprised and pleased with his arrangement on his version.

Alton Broussard - Almost With You
Alton is another talented guy I would not have known about if it wasn't for this cd project! I like his work, and hope to hear more of it someday. I really dig the way he intros this song.

Maurizio Tommasini - Hotelwomb
MAT and I agree that we often approach music the same way. I really like his guitar ideas. I'm really looking forward to when he finally starts recording his cd...he's got dozens and dozens of songs written!

D -->>D avide Valecchi - Pharoah
Is this version cool or what? And he's a really nice guy. Like all of us, he lives and breaths music. You all need to check his stuff out.

John Black - Youth Worshipper
Man, this song really takes off! I really dig everything I've heard of John's. I must admit, this is my fav JB cover on the cd...but the others are great too!

Tony Pucci - Bel-Air
....er....um....yeah....

Noel Riddell (w/Daniel Watkins) - Already Yesterday
You have to totally dig that 12-string acoustic solo! Ultra tasty. Well done, Fog Bro....

Tom Edgington & Paul Best - Loveblind
Very well done version. Great instrumentation!

Alton Broussard - My Birthday, the Moon Festival
Alton's bass/baritone voice scares me...in a good way!

Charcoal Ed - Invisible
The Wilson Bros. brand of sound contines to draw me in...crashing, helpless, against the rocks....everytime I listen to Charcoal Ed, I like them better than before! (No, that doesn't mean I hated them at first...lol). Great version.

Robert Lurie - Authority
I've always liked Robert's voice. Sweet and longing at the same time, just like his version of this song. Some cool guitars hidden in this song.

D -->>D isc Two
Tony Pucci & Daniel Watkins - Electric
I fired the instrumental version of this off to Daniel without totally listening to the final mix....I should have mixed the rhythm guitar down in the verse a bit! Maybe that's just my opinion....I like the bass guitar however. It was such a treat for me to receive Daniel's finished version back in the mail, and to truly listen to this song for the first time...he really polished it off quite nicely!

Alt:res - No Certainty Attached
Again, I'm scared, but in a good way! I would have never dreamed of doing this song this way...good work, Brian!

Cosmetic Attitude - Hotelwomb
I think of Matt like I think of the Grateful Dead (and band we both like)...so comfortable! You know you can always put it on and listen to something soothing and great, and you won't be disappointed.

Alton Broussard - Paradox
I love this version....the horns just make this song work! Super tasty. Very cool, Alton.

Lunelac - Lost
Man...I'm sitting at the window on a rainy day, watching muted reflections on the street, wishing I was somewhere else....very peaceful, Joshua!

John Black - The Night is Very Soft
A song I never thought anyone would cover. And very well at that! John has great attention to detail. I admire the time he puts into every recording he makes.

Tony Pucci - Dropping Names
Who's that goofy guy who has been listening to too much Kraftwerk?!?!?

Magnetosphere - Field of Mars
Trust me, Alien Rendel is one helluva guy. Great song...very cool e-bow!

The Jackdaws - This is It
Another bold song to cover. Very sparse, which only adds to the dispair of the song. Another Brian who is another great guy!

John Black - Fading Away
What can I say about John that I haven't said already? I have a great amount of respect for him and his work.

Cosmetic Attitude - Ripple
Ditto.

Tom Edgington & Paul Best - Loveblind (acoustic)
I finally had the pleasure of meeting Tom in Antenna last night. Great guy! And...the only artist on this HERESY cd who sent me a gift to thank me for my time and efforts.... ;) !!! No, really...it's not necessary....

Crome Yellow - Under the Milky Way
Don't let the applause fool you....I think the high school kids in the audience where just glad to have an excuse to get out of class for an hour....

John Frum - Don't Look Back
I told John from the beginning that I thought his song would be a great song to end the collection....and it is. Well done.

----------------------------------------------

That's all for now. I hope to hear more of the opinions of those out there that have the HERESY cd already. There are still plenty of copies available as well.

I'd also like to say publicly that Reid and Amanda did a stunning and graceful job with the liner artwork. Very professional. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with two very talented people. I let them have full control over the appearance of the cd, and it's truly lovely!

And Ann's assistance with the website was invaluable. Check out the artist bios and pics page she put together for us all--it's great!!!!

Peace,

Tony Pucci
