Correct me if I'm wrong, but something like Kyoto can't work unless you have the technologies already in place and in production that would allow you to meet the same industrial production standards (and allow for growth) but still put out less emissions. In other words, if you could only make the reductions by a decline in industry, which equates to economic collapse, then it can't work. To make significant reductions at the levels called for by Kyoto, you would HAVE to have already workable solutions in place... At this point there aren't such workable solutions being put into production or researched AGRESSIVELY ENOUGH to use them on a wide scale.

I'm not asking to be flamed (which seems to be the trend after I post a counterpoint on any given subject) but feel free to discuss and fill me in on some of the details that I'm not aware of, as I'm not ultra-familiar with all of the ins and outs of this.
