UV, ultraviolet, beyond violet, more energetic photons.
IR, infrared, below red, heat, photons with less energy than we can detect visually.
Color, what we humans call certaing ranges of wavelengths in the visible spectrum.
From the human senses perspective UV is beyond the colors we perceive.
It was a figurative way of saying it... I don't always strive for scientific precision least of all when a figure of speech may be adequate(*).


What does it say about my psychology that I wax scientific at the slightest provocation and that I feel the need to defend my use of language?:)


(*) P.S. Figures of speech, such as saying "UV Bees" instead of saying explicitly that bees can see UV light with their eyes.
