Is there disappointment in the air that Cobalt Blue is not the kinda opener that it´s meant to be? Traditionally the openers have been the big ones. Popcorn, lights, curtains and SHOWTIME! Tataa, Pharaoh, Myrrh, Destination, Numbers, crash boom bang. Some of them have taken some time to adjust but it has been there in the end. Block is a massive song but is it really a good opener, worthy of single even? It takes it´s time to sink but it feels so logical now. It has all the elements to make it a real blow to the head but it´s not too simple either.

Cobalt Blue is not massive and there is very few straight elements that grab you immediately. It loiters in motel bars and other strange non-places. What happens in 2:15- 2:50? Plink plonk drunken gypsies dance in the morning light and strange grey missus plays the wonky organ...what? WHAT? A massive epic opener? No way! Is Cobalt Blue a disappointment because we were expecting it to be Myrrh but it´s definitely not playing the game we want to? This is the song we are supposed to play the most as it´s the first one. The one that starts the trip to the Untitled territories. It has some fluidian Floydian passages but it´s far too meandering to knock you out half unconscious holding your breath. There is still meaning that it´s the first one, the chosen one, the blessed one. Some albums just have to have that other kind of taster. Welcome, anyone? The one that leads to the other kind of long trips to the edges of the known world. To unmapped untitled places where new things are possible. Untitled gets new meanings here. They dare to defy expectations of their fans and that´s exactly the point with this band. Never expect the expected.

...or is this like a double-headed opener? Welcome-Comedown. Slow and strange - catchy and rock. Okay, Deadmans is not exactly rock and not exactly catchy, but it might be seen like it´s the cherry on top of the cake here if rock is the preference. It´s very rock in the context of the album. Deadman hints at sinister Block-y habits but it´s very subtle in Block-y scale. It´s more like a 2-song intro to show the sides of new Untitled world. A way to suck the listener far in to the other world that opens up before our eyes. When Pangaea starts you are so far in to it that there is no escape anymore. Is this loooong intro then a whole new church-y idea or something that has been seen before? Fly- One Day? Only time will tell more about it. 6 months, a year from now the double-headed opener will feel more logical. Well, nothing is logical here in church-y world, yet it always is, which is the catch to have a long life. I have faith that it will be more understandable in the future. In some way.

If this has been a meandering blaa blaa and I haven´t been clear, then I just want to say that Untitled #23 is 5/5. For me it´s popcorn, lights, curtains and SHOWTIME!
