I loved Mew's debut single "Am I wry? no!" back in 2003. So many ideas, merged together in a single short song. Last October, Mew released a second album, "And the glass handed kites". It's excessive, at times masturbatory, and creates a weird atmosphere of magic that almost doesnt let you breathe between the odd rhythms, the chord shifts that sometimes disappear to a place you never knew...the intertwining songs that make this record feel like a huge variation on some themes never shown, the thundering kattle drums... all in all...it's very good, if you can stand it..
