I have decided to take Disillusionist.net into a new open direction with more players. There is strength in numbers.
I have one stream so far on that network (mine). I pay to play about 20 hours of music but can spin right from my PC as well and play anything instantly relayed through the live365 servers.
I can also have a friend or fellow music fan log in and DJ. To host a live DJ/playlist show of their own music favorites is as easy for them as loading up a web browser. PC or MAC. I am looking now for DJ's but I would rather us get together and do this:
The potential for other Wombers and Seancers to become broadcasters with a self managed and programmed station of their own is great. Once it is set up (music loaded) there can be as little upkeep as nothing or as much as you want to tweak, rotate your music, do live relay broadcasts, monitor your stats, teach your friends how to do a live show, etc.
The cost is low. Starting at $7.45/month you can
- Broadcast your favorite music or talk
- Meet listeners and other DJs
- No continuous Internet connection necessary!
- a Free trial is even available
- royalties are paid, everything is legal.
The thing is, there are so many stations out there that unless you get with a group that offers its services on the same page. An umbrella that gives potential listeners a wider choice of streams, more diverse tastes, and a well done informative web presence with proper search engine placement, well the truth is thousands of stations get no listeners at all!!!
I am asking you, anyone who thought for even a moment that broadcasting their own permanently hosted, personally programmed radio station that will eventually have maximum listeners tuning in daily come by the website and deeply consider whether they want to be a part of DNR. I will seek in Churchy circles before I look elsewhere for partners in growth.
I now have an e-mail address set up for personal discussions with those of you interested. It is easy, lots of fun and cheap as candy. Ask questions, urge others to come aboard. Also visit the live365 website and read about broadcasting to remove your illusions about it. There are simple rules you must follow.

www.disillusionist.net - I am ready to add you to our list of streams as soon as you are! I will also do any web work that I can for your station profilles, etc as you grow your interest more. I could also use any of your skills in graphics. The music is the most important.
One misconception is that signing up to listen to online radio is a pain. Listening is totally anonymous and to be a listener on a station accounted by live365 requires only the most basic signup which allows you to post in their community forums and broadcast.
signup and think quickly about how this could be a compliment to your life, a bigger venture of our "people" pushing our music together from one place. You the DJ on your own stream or as a "guester" can also play your own bands music (no one has to know as you sing its praises or you can self-proclaim it yours!) You could do a local music show for your city and do a cheap advert in the local entertainment rag ( i heard rcently a few have done that and filled up their maximum listeners the first week)

Please act fast if you are interested. I don't expect people to do much at this time of year but will keep any individuals who expressed an interest (use DJX@disillusionist.net) in a priority sequence and the new year could be the best music year ever for all camps!

Sure traditional radio will always suck.
