Greetings Everyone,
I'm having some technical difficulties recording vocals from a Shure SM 57 mic onto my computer. I've tried Audacity and Soundforge, but the vocal still comes across as way to quiet no matter how loud I sing.
This debacle makes singing over a backing track nearly impossible. My keyboard sounds fine, but my guitar and mic come across as way too quiet.
Does anyone recommend a type of soundcard or what not. I'm presently recording on a Hercules Maxi Sound Game Theatre XP. Not exactly pro gear...
My only solution at the moment is to sing/play over the keyboard produced backing track onto the mic and then amplify it all together.
Any recommendations?
