Hi All,
At work I use a Mac and at home a PC. At work I have a small application called 'File Typer' where I can change the type and creator of any particular file. This is particularly useful in changing the media type of a particular audio file. Sometimes certain software will not recognize a file unless it has a certain signature- for lack of better terms.
Does anyone know of a similar program for the PC ?
Recently my PC at home died a horrible, unsightly death. But in it's death throws I was able to transfer some MP3's to another drive. Now these MP3's will not play. They open and the title of the song appears in Winamp but the file doesn't play. It's not a question of volume or program settings. Somehow I figure these files were corrupted, but how come their properties remain true but they can't be played ?
About 95% of the transferred MP3's no longer play on Winamp, Windows Media Player or QuickTime.
Any insight would be welcome.
Thanks,
Matt
