Prince - Sometimes It Snows In April
I never had Purple Rain, but when Around The World came out I got it. Lovely pop psychedelia and humorous experiments. 85-87 Prince was really a genius who was experimenting maybe even too much at that moment. Parade was even better and Sign O´ The Times was a bit mish mash, but still interesting. During those 3 albums I really listened to him. After that he never recovered to do anything that I would prefer, but 3 good albums is good enough for me. I got Black Album on a crappy cassette and threw it away after 2 listens. After that came Batman-soundtrack, and it was clear that he had been lost to the dark side. Batdance??? Sexy motherf??? He even forgot what his name was. Or that he even had a name. Anyway, Parade was his peak and April is the last song of that album. In many ways this is the absolute peak of Prince Roger Nelson for me. |
