There isn´t much time for new musical adventures for me in the summer. Here is what new and old stuff is stuffed to my phone and what I will listen to in the
summer (in addition to recent church stuff):
Camera Obscura: My Maudlin Career
Belle & Sebastian was somehow too wussy for me but this has something else. Singer has a quirky voice and it´s easygoing stuff, perfect for summer.
Grizzly Bear: Yellow House.
I don´t know what happened, one day it just clicked. First song Easier just took me by surprise on shuffle mood. Veckatimest will soon follow but now I´m really happy with this one. It is so summery or spring-y. Like Astral Weeks for the 2000´s.
Yo La Tengo: I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One
Older one but now was the right time to get it, still working on it. Some groovy stuff on it and there is different kind of songs, not just quiet ones.
Wendy & Lisa: The White Flags of Winter Chimneys (still love it)
Dungen: 4 (jazzy, swedish and cool)
Howling Bells: Radio Wars (this is still in constant rotation)
Kris Delmhorst: Shotgun Singer (oddshot Americana but I like it)
Slowdive: Souvlaki (haven´t yet clicked but I´m working on it)
The Flaming Lips: Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (this is so good for ANY occasion)
Antony & The Johnsons: I am a Bird (insult me
but this is good
stuff )
Asobi Seksu: Hush (is it wrong to like this more than Souvlaki? Feeling guilty...)
Please, do share your summer soundtrack.

Do you know that this probably the last summer or at least one of the last summers when it´s needed to get music ready for summer or for a trip? Noodling with memory cards and CD-r´s will be so last year. Next year or soon after that there will be wireless broadband and access to millions of streaming songs almost everywhere. I wonder how it will change the ways I listen to music.
