I love AENT. Maybe because it was on that tour I fist saw them, maybe because it is just such a wonderful album. If freshness was the criteria, then Uninvited Like the Clouds would be fairing better I think. Starfish is OK to be, but just OK. Obviously it is a wonderful album, but lined up with certain other ones it just doesn't quite have it IMO. P=A is indeed wonderful, but is it better than Untitled#23, Heyday or Forget Yourself? I'm not so sure.

of course, i revisited most church albums for this game. believe it or not, BOB wins over HOB IMO. i like HOB mostly for being there, for PK returning, for being the album for the 1st tour i saw tem on...plus Anaesthesia, Buffalo, Another Urf & Tranquility are incredible songs. Tranquility...they played it live on that show, and they should again...unbelievably powerful... BOB - i love the raw freshness, the direct approach, the "four people in a room playing" sound (much superior to FY), the choice of songs, i love The Church rocking out for the first time since Chaos. I pretty much love BOB. A lot!! Faith Healer...god, that bass...Hiroshima - PK going berserk on his string guitars...listen to the intro....and then...all those semi-chamber-shoegazery transformations of acerbic 70es rock and glam sounds in a psychedelic context. Endless Sea is huge...Decadence - hypnotic and with the clarity of a december night on the south pole....Porpoise...dripping with juicy melodies. Bogs Of Byrds!!!

BY lost 11-0 to it´s parent album FY. EMS lost to EMD also 11-0. No discussion there which album was the better from those sessions.

i just listened to MATS in the car, after 3 or 4 years or so...love TFAOTTB, love Afterimage, somewhat like MATS-the-song, while the rest is pretty awful...i agree with Kilbey it's a load of tripe...if well-produced. Great drum sounds!! BOB is so much fresher...
