Hi. As many of you know Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour played in two songs from All About Eve's third album "Touched by Jesus" with Marty Willson-Piper on board. The fact is that I didn't completely understand what Marty said about "Wishing the Hours Away" solo which everybody in the Internet attributes to Pink Floyd's legend, some even claims to be one of the best he has ever made. Here's the excerpt taken from a Q&A in Shadow Cabinet website:
"Consequently the two tracks he played on which were Are You Lonely (a little) and Wishing The Hours Away had fantastic little lead licks in them, but when it came to the latters solo we didn't manage to get "The One" out of him.So I had to do Dave Gilmour's guitar solo again for him!(Actually for us).My ego was surfing on that concept for a good few days after!Anyway it was great what he did. (magic fingers). "
What does that really mean? Did Marty finally record that solo?
By the way. "Touched by Jesus" is one of my favourite albums ever and I hope someday it gets reissued along with "Ultraviolet" as Universal did with "All About Eve" and "Scarlet and Other Stories" in 2015.
